PowerPoint Online is a web-based version of Microsoft’s popular Office application. Mozilla says Firefox 66 cannot save typed text in the presentation tool. The company is currently working on a fix for the problem in its Nightly branch of browser previews. Until the fix is ready, Mozilla has halted the release of Firefox 66. However, it is worth noting the new browser update had already been rolled out and has reached many users. The problem may be a non-issue for many users, especially those who don’t use PowerPoint Online. Those who do run the web Office app and have already updated, Mozilla says they can change preference through the following path: dom.keyboardevent.keypress.hack.use_legacy_keycode_and_charcode value to powerpoint.officeapps.live.com. Reload the page.

Firefox Send

Earlier this month, Mozilla announced a new cloud-based file sharing services for its browser. Firefox Send is a cloud storage and file transfer service that provides end-to-end encryption and customizable security controls. The former ensures information sent by the user is secure throughout the sharing process, with the data locked until the file is opened by the recipient. Mozilla says sending large files on Firefox Send is easy, making it an excellent tool for collaborations, presentations, and enterprise needs. Users can use the service to send up to 1GB files in a quick send feature that is free to use and requires no sign up.
